In the story, the pearl, by John Steinbeck,  a family is struggling with financial problems, and trying to take care of their child, who got bit by a scorpion. I do not like this story because it is way too slow, and I don’t want to keep reading it. I would give this book two out of five stars. I do not like books with bad endings, and based on this books symbolism, the book is going to end bad for this family.
