Does Patriotism still matter?
Have you ever gone to a fourth of July parade or watched the Red, White, and Blue fireworks blast off during Independence Day? Do you just watch fireworks because it is a fun activity to do with your friends and family, or do you go there because you know that those fireworks are representing your Country? If you go for the love of you country you have Patriotism. Some people do not have Patriotism and think it doesn't matter anymore. Patriotism still matters because without being proud of your nation and everything your ancestors fought for you’re giving it away.
Patriotism still matters because there are people fighting for your country right now. They are risking their own lives for their country. If you do not have patriotism you are in some ways selfish. You live in a free country and you need to take advantage of that. If you don’t have any love and respect for your country you probably don’t have any love and respect for your ancestors’ ether.
My grandpa was in world war two. He fought against the Japanese. He was a sheet medal person who worked on the planes when they got busted up. He also worked in the officers’ tent tending to administrative items. He flew on four missions as a right gunner in a B29 super fortress. People say he "Flew the hump" in one mission which was in the Himalayas. One of your ancestors has probably been in one war once in their lifetime. If you go back I you would probably find someone in a war. If you do not have patriotism you do not have respect for the people fighting for you right now, and you probably do not have respect for your ancestors.
If a country does not have any patriotism the country would fall apart. Patriotism is like having confidence. If you do not have any you will not accomplish any goals. Patriotism still matters because without being proud of your nation and everything your ancestors fought for you you‘re giving it away culturally.
